Hi,

First post after lurking in the depths

While I'm saving up for something exotic I attacked my stock of fibreglassing supplies to make this:

DSC_0511.JPG

Since I can't ride my racing bike I decided to bolt on (to an alloy plate on the bottom you can't see) my Tri shoes. Carbon soles - so way stiff.

The blade is untapered in this first attempt. I may bond on some ribs to alter the flex after I've had a go with it.

Agree. I went for a test on Friday and the fin was... Rubbish!

Any ideas what sort of thickness I should use at each end?

It will depend on the material you are using. Are you going to cure a custom layup, or peel layers away from a standard G10 fiberglass panel?
