Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share this with you in case you were having the same problem.

As I've been getting older, I have a ton of back aches, muscle spams and a bunch of other things that come with age. Wearing a belt with weights left me walking more like a 100 year old, instead of my 53 year old self, at the end of a hunting day. I bought one of those weighted vests (Omer) and tried it out to see if I found some relief. It worked well, but the pouches full of lead(pictured in teal) that I bought for it felt bulky against my back. SO, I set out to fix that problem:

First, I made a pattern out of some wood from the area where the lead goes inside the vest.

Then, I took the wood pattern and made a mold. I made my mold using a cardboard box, some putty/spackle and some aluminum foil. I just poured the putty and pressed the pattern against it. When the spackle dried, I removed the wood pattern, but left the aluminum foil behind.

I opened the little lead pouches(pictured in teal color) and weighed the lead until I reached the amount I wanted each piece to have. I bought a cheap aluminum pot so I could melt the lead. It wasn't long before I was pouring the molten lead onto my mold. Lead in general, but specially molted lead, is very dangerous. I worked in my back yard.

When the finished weights cooled, I hammered them a bit in order to give them a curved shape to fit the muscles on my back. After that, I just popped them back in the vest's pockets, where the pouches used to be.

That's it! I hope it helps.
