Would appreciate any other ideas for more accessories or to make it better.

its really nice! doesnt look too cheap though- each of those jim buoy costs 75$ in the us- making that a very expensive diy. nice though. i use one of those for blue water hunting. nothing pulls it under that i have shot.- not for long anyway. maybe two is overkill- no? unless you live somewhere that you are shooting pelagics over 150lbs (lucky!)

Thanks..i picked them up in a fishing store(unfortunatly the owner passed away)and the family wanted to close the shop,so everything was give away prices..i was lucky..
I also thought maybe 2 was overkill, there aren`t any big fish in the Med,well not here in Cyprus anyway..just the 2 together has space to load things,it`s also quiet a mission carring it..i will see how creative i can get.

i made one using a body surf board there are some pictures of it on a floatboard forum here somewhere

nice work but it seems a but excessive..i would go with one can and add some ballast to keep it upright, a flag holder in it and a few lengths of bungee around it to secure your gun and stringer..

then you could putthe two in sequesnce if you went after huge fish or just use one for most dives and lighten your load.

nice work regardless

:)Very cool. Several of us have considered using 2 torpedo floats catamaran-style and at least one USA member did it. But this is the simplest, most professional looking one I've come across. Those buoys look somewhat smaller than some of the "rescue cans" used by life guards -- so maybe not as OTT as some have suggested. If you live near the sea (and you live in Cyprus, so you probably are) great, if you have to walk far though, solid floats tend to start feeling heavy. For 20 euro, I would say quite a bargain, and achieved a surprisingly clean/sleek result. Have you used it now?

I like the removable flag design too, clever.

Your shaped, camo speargun looks cool, is it a Sporasub One speargun, or perhaps an Omer HF2? 80/90m?

I noticed that the RNLI lifeguards in the UK have a pretty nice version of the "rescue tube"/belt, perhaps made out of polyurethane foam. I was wondering if they could be adapted for a long, slim spearing float (that could hold a speargun on top) -- although they might need stiffening up. I discovered that they are made in Cornwall, unfortunately they cost around £75. So, the search for the ultimate spearo float goes on!

I think I might end-up making my own inflatable float, although I did pick up a polyurethane pool float - like a mini-version of the big, fancy new Sporasub spearo-float - cheaply at a local charity shop this week. It is too small to be a spearo-float but it might give me some ideas.:hmm

The gun is an Omer Caymen 75 cm..i`ve used the float a few times, seems great, carries torch, gun, bottle of water..it is light weight aswell..
