Very cool. Several of us have considered using 2 torpedo floats catamaran-style and at least one USA member did it. But this is the simplest, most professional looking one I've come across. Those buoys look somewhat smaller than some of the "rescue cans" used by life guards -- so maybe not as OTT as some have suggested. If you live near the sea (and you live in Cyprus, so you probably are) great, if you have to walk far though, solid floats tend to start feeling heavy. For 20 euro, I would say quite a bargain, and achieved a surprisingly clean/sleek result. Have you used it now?
I like the removable flag design too, clever.
Your shaped, camo speargun looks cool, is it a Sporasub One speargun, or perhaps an Omer HF2? 80/90m?
I noticed that the RNLI lifeguards in the UK have a pretty nice version of the "rescue tube"/belt, perhaps made out of polyurethane foam. I was wondering if they could be adapted for a long, slim spearing float (that could hold a speargun on top) -- although they might need stiffening up. I discovered that they are made in Cornwall, unfortunately they cost around £75. So, the search for the ultimate spearo float goes on!
I think I might end-up making my own inflatable float, although I did pick up a polyurethane pool float - like a mini-version of the big, fancy new Sporasub spearo-float - cheaply at a local charity shop this week. It is too small to be a spearo-float but it might give me some ideas.:hmm
