Horrific Shark attack off Norfolk

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
It was probably Alan Partridge that did it, on his way back from the Owl Sanctuary.

How big is the seal? The picture doesn't really show.

Why did the shark not consume the whole thing as the seal couldn't escape with a wound like that.

If they find a tooth in the carcass or someone films predation in UK waters i will always be a sceptic.

"Now crews are scouring the Norfolk coast in the hope of finding the first conclusive proof that the ruthless killers are prowling our shores."

What a f###ing rag! Watch sales of powerheads go up, and people refusing to go in the water lol >8^(
We have a similar piece of crap newspaper here- written at a Grade 4 level English, called.... you guessed it, "The Sun".

Sharks don't always finish the whole thing. I came across a dead elephant seal at Marine Beach, in Monterey Bay. The head was entirely bitten off, and a large bite had been taken out of the body, but it was otherwise intact.

I saw a Discover Channel documentary on researchers trying to figure out who was responsible for similar huge bites out of seals on Sable Island off the coast of Nova Scotia. There were several theories, but no sightings or proof. There was one kind of shark with bizarre teeth that the research theorized could have made such a clean bite. They did some rough CSI extrapolation and proposed that most sharks would have made a ragged bite. They didn't find any teeth either. The doco showed many seals in the same state as the photo shows.

I personally believe it only took one bite and left the rest because it wasn't a seal of approval

We do have Orca's in these waters and they are well know for not eating prey and indeed just playing with it.
