Hi all, just wondering can anyone be bothered to telll me briefly how an air gun works,

do they use reels for the line?

how many shots do they have?

how you charge them up with air?

many thanks..

Pneumatic spearguns are based on simple gas propulsion and the spear is propelled by expanding gas. The gas expands because the air or "gas" is highly compressed. Pneumatic spearguns do not release the gas used, as the gas is captured and reused. Air is a "gas" - Or actually a mixture of gases.

You CAN use a reel...But most people dont...Unless you're blue-water hunting.

They can shoot over and over and over....And most people DO use a shooting line...Usually on pneumo's mono is used.

Some guys even "free shaft" with them...(meaning they use no line attached to the spear) and they usually carry an extra spear or two with them for obvious reasons.

They usually come pre-charged with air but can be adjusted and pumped up with the included charger. I beleive there are a few pneumo's out that will even allow you to adjust "on the spot" for an open water or longer shots and tight quarters/close in shots.

Hope that helps you out....Good luck!
