Im no where near any limits of equalization im just curious if frenzel has a range of depth that many find other methods of equalization to be required.

Herbert (I assume) uses Frenzel to move air from his coke bottle to his ears at -200. Frenzel is just a way from getting air from your mouth into your ears. the hardest part is to have air in your mouth to move there at depth. In my case a "plain" frenzel will run out about 35 to 40m.

How exactly do you achieve having no air in your mouth? If its an open cavity and theres no water in it then there must be air right? Or is it in a vacumm state from the pressure? So if i understand this correctly ferenzel only works until you are unable to get air from your lungs due to?

Well, any open cavity with air in it will squash and reduce volume at depth right... more so if some of that volume is being moved to your mask and ears.

Frenzel always works as long as you have air to move. Once lungs are at residual volume you will no longer be able to fill your mouth from them naturally.

To get around this there are the following options:
1. take air from the lungs at depth easy to do this (like 15 or 20m) and use it well, this is called the "mouthfill"
2. wait till you are at RV and reverse pack air (suck it up) to your cheeks
3. do 1, go down a bit more, then top up a few times with 2

Most of this is covered in level 2 freediving courses and up.
