Alcohol, like any other psychoactive substance, is addictive. Alcohol is cardiotoxic and neurotoxic, which is dangerous for the freediver and can limit his professional activities. Suppose you consume alcohol for a long time. This can then lead to a desire to use heavier psychotropic substances, such as cocaine. This decision makes a big difference in the quality of life.

I'm not going to try to say that alcohol is good for you, but I've been consuming it for at least 70 years and I have no desire to use heavier substances such as cocaine.
