Hello fellow spearos,
I am planning a trip, one week, in the middle of november. One option is the azores (another post) but Cyprus is another option. Can anyone tell me how the fishing (from shore) is there at that time? I am basically looking for nice viz and lots of fish. Like everyone else right? Any info will help alot. The places I can go are Agia Napa, Larnaka and Pafos.

South of the island is not so good for spearing but due to poletical problems you can nopt fly directly to north, my advice is fly to south and accomodate in north, its much better place for spearing, holiday, sea etc.. and much more cheaper too. In november fishing in Cyprus is average not bad but not great also, more of the huntings on those months will be up to 20 meters most of the time. The water temp would be good you can use both 3mm and 5mm at that time but i preffer 3mm bottom 5mm top generally. If you decide to come i will take you few places in North.

Hello Murat!
Thanks for good info. If you don't mind I have some more questions. Is it hard to find accomodation in the north at that time? What is the average visibility? What kind of fish can be expected at that time? Will I need a permit?
It would be great to go spearing with you if we come down there

visibility will be perfect, between 16-30 meters but as i said those times most of the hunt is less than 20 meters. Typical targets would be the common med. sea species but no gilthead and sea bass, they are almost extinct here, you may find sargo, grouper and some dentex and AJ may be its all luck you know...accomodation will be cheap and easily available. Yes you need permision to spear but i think that will not be too much problem too, there could be special arrangement for tourists.Even if you stay at south the passing here to north will be very easy.
