How long can you stay under and still feel completely comfortable?
I am getting back into the sport, as some of my earlier posts have indicated. I am doing stuff strictly in my home above-ground pool. I laid on the bottom yesterday for two minutes which I was pretty pleased with considering how long it has been since I have held my breath underwater.
Today I decided to swim. Distance is meaningless for me right now, but I was wondering how long y'all can stay under and still feel absolutely comfortable and confident. I swam around in circles (doing laps on the bottom) and came up at about the 1:05 mark without any pain or discomfort. Again I am not totally displeased with this as I am in week one of my comeback. Due to safety concerens I will not be able to push my envelope at all. I am going to concentrate on increasing my comfort zone.
I apologize if I am picking this apart too much. The last time I dove I really did not give any thought to much of anything I did. I just went and did it. Well now I am older and have way more free time to cogitate on things. If my questions have made any sense at all, I would love to hear some input.
Thanks again,
Gary
