How high breath rate is dangerous?
How much time you spend breathing (Single breath cycle) before diving?

I take about 8~10 seconds for a single cycle is that normal or too fast
or too slow?

I'm not quite sure what is "right", but my breath cycles are much slower.

Quite fast inhale, maybe 3 to 5 seconds, hold at the top for a similar period, and then a relatively long exhale, usually 20 to 30 seconds.

Longish exhales are good for slowing your heartrate etc as I understand it.

It's all situational of course - if I'm spearfishing and see a large pelagic swim under me...
