i just finished a huge mid handle cannon, and i made the stock huge. it is 2" x 1.5" ,(50mmx37mm) it has wings and stuff so i want to properly ballast it. has anyone done this? do i want it to be neutral or negative? balanced to the handle or tip down a little? the gun has wings , so the front should float well already.

Those are mostly personal choices. I prefer guns to be slightly muzzle heavy because I find it easier to keep the gun stable and aim with a slightly heavier muzzle, but some guys prefer it the other way around. If I recall, I think you've posted before that you prefer the muzzle heavy configuration also.

As for neutral/negative. If you'll be using the gun mainly for freediving then go with a negative or neutral with spear in, buoyant with spear out configuration. If scuba then make it negative with & without spear. As a personal matter, I think a midhandle should be relatively neutral with the spear in (especially in the big size) so that it's easier to manuver and handle when doing an aspetto.

Oh and almost forgot, nice gun. :)
