how thick (wetsuit)? get your minds out of the gutter.

Im looking to buy a new wetsuit for a trip to socal this winter. what should I get for california in the winter that will keep me warm? Any one have any experience with the hammerhead reversible suit?
 
I have a 7mm Hammerhead, not revers, but Im very happy with it, good service too. I have only been in lakes here in Alaska but I would get a 5mm if i were to do it agian, Its fits me so well that i over heat and constantly was flooding the suit with cold water.
