Currently I fill my lungs as much as I can. But after a short time being a member of deeperblue I find there are many attitudes and suggestions to any subject.
After some really nice guys explained to me about FRC and exhale diving I noticed that some folks perform statics with non-full lungs. Also, I get the impression that there are different levels of relaxation.BTW, when I fill my lungs and then stop I feel there's tension in the ribcage muscles.
Off course, the ultimate goal of practicing static apnea training is prolonging breath hold.
So my question is what is a good way to practice regarding:
1. Breathing between breath holds.
2. The amount to which the lungs are full.

Breath normally (like you are now) between dives.

Take one last big breath. In static this might be slightly less than dynamic just for comfort (under the pressure of water in dyn your lungs are slightly smaller and you can deal with a full breath more easily).

Practise taking full breaths as a separate dry session to create more flexibility in the reb cage and loosen up the muscles.
