Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Hello, I would like to know how to close my account.

Anybody can help with this?

Thanks!

I do not think that closing an account is available - it would wreak havoc in all the threads where the user ever posted if the account was to be removed including all posts. If it was a common practice, the forum archive would be quickly unusable. The continuity of the threads would be lost.

Why not simply stopping to use the account if you are no more interested about posting here?

trux- I see what you mean, but the threads don't get deleted when an account is closed.

There has to be a way to close an account. But for some reason I can't figure out how...

Well, Sushi, if you stop using the account, it will be as if it were closed. If you are afraid that some of your personal info stays online, simply remove it all from your profile, disable email notifications, or remove the email address, and it will have the same effect as if the account were closed. You can even add a "custom user title" (User Profile -> Edit Your Details) telling "closed".

... ah, I just had another idea how to get your account closed quickly - just post couple of messages offering to sell iPhones, Viagra, or other similar spam. I am sure that Podge will jump on it quickly and ban the account forever rofl

Sushi,

Trux is correct - there is no way to "delete" an account and it is our policy to not close accounts. If we were to delete whole accounts then threads would become unreadable as posts woulda e deleted from threads.

What we do offer is letting you remove all profile info yourself and then we set the account to a user group that has no privileges to post on the forums. We would also reset the password so no one could login again.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.
