I have a phantom 110 equipped with a 6.5mm x 150cm,spring steel shaft.i use the 20mm x 30cm long bands on it. i feel that its not so strong.also tried a pair of 20mm and 19mm bands togethor but now i lost accuracy on target.Any suggestions on how to setup the ideal shaft and bands for a 110 to optain maximum range and accuracy possible.
thanks in advance

I don't have a lot of practical experience of these bigger guns but I understand the theory and have tried a few variations on 90cm guns.

First off I assume your gun has a rail/guide track. If it hasn't you've got problems. Second even a single 20 will cause a 6.5 mm spear to warp and accuracy would not be so good due to recoil in a 90 but maybe a 110 has enough mass. So you are probably near the limit of the gun and spear with a single 20mm band.

Most double bands are either 16mm or even only 14mm (especially multi band American guns). However, in these instances spears are usually at least 7mm diameter.

So in my limited experience I would say a single 20 with your exsisting spear or upgrade to a doulbe 16mm band set up with a 7mm diameter spear. Not sure if your gun will work with that but that's what I 'd try.

Good luck.

Dave.

Old man Dave is right: careful not to overpower or you will screw the accuracy.

In your case: you say 30cm bands for a 110 (I assume you're talking of twin bands, not of one circular loop band).
Well 30cm twin bands for a 110 are just a bit too long: there comes the impression of feebleness that you are reporting.
Try them 26/28 cm and that will be fine, but NOT SHORTER THAN THAT.
Hope this helps.

....But, excuse me, what gun model is that? Phantom what? I know the Mares Phantom but it doesn't mount twin bands...

hi and thanks for your interest.i am speaking about a mares phantom fv 110.it can take (2 single long bands) or (1 single long band and a pair of small ones)

now i am going to try 2 single long bands 16mm,with a 6.5mm shaft.hope will work.

Aluminium Euro guns don't usually do well with 2 bands, they get way too much recoil and then accuracy suffers quite a bit. If you want more power you should try some of the other guns like Riffe. Having said that I have a Hammerhead 130cm gun that is well balanced with 2 bands but they are extremely thin bands (14mm). If you have to use 2 bands then I would look into very thin bands.
