Reading this in Cyprus. Oh boy has this holiday been interesting! The dry glove I brought out had a tiny hole in it, and this was the second from the same shop (first had a leak round the seal)
Name and shame: Dive Oddysea in Rochford, Essex needs to throw out all his stock of dry gloves.
Heroes amongst men - Olympian Divers, Ayia Napa - the best dry 'You've been Tango'd' glove in the business! cheers guys
*edit* Olympian demoted from hero status on account of ignoring requests for return of deposit :rcard - don't say it's a deposit if it isn't, tut tut! :naughty
Promoted to Hero status are SunFish divers though :king - needed a bit of additional ballast *ahem* (pounds on the waist=pounds on the belt, lol!) lent FOC
Unfortunately, we were getting ready to go in on Saturday - didn't get near the water however cause my wetsuit caught the cut and partly reopened it- ouch! Much bemusement by other divers at the site who'd seen us turn up, get kitted up, then get unkitted and drive off again! LOL!
Then of course there's the sea scooter - bit of pain to get here, but much more of a pain that the battery vent plug threaded the first time we went to go to use it. Terrible, terrible design - clearly a known problem as well as the instructions mention being careful with it (which I was!). Name and shame: Dolphin brand scooters from
http://www.seasports4europe.com . I'll have one up for sale shortly - unused - avoid!
All offers considered tho, LOL!
After all this, both of us are having major problems with ear clearing (as in they won't). very frustrating - may have to write off the diving this time as we've been out 3 times with minimal success. Dems de breaks I guess.....still, the hand is healing nicely
Tahoe - the PVC glue is a brilliant idea, worth remembering if I do something stupid again
Donna - sending PM
