Hi ya,

Awesome knowledge at this forum thank you all for existing I am looking forward to learning about free diving. I am just getting into spearfishing in South Florida and I haven't bought a gun or spear yet (haven't made up my mind on which to get first) but I enjoy all aspects of the water and the notion of catching my own dinner is great.

Hi Todd, welcome to db.
Always good fun choosing new gear - just ask if you get stuck.

Thanks for the warm welcome! The main question I have at the moment is how to find out the correct amount of weight I should wear. I've searched this and other forums and most of the weight suggestions are for folks with wet suits on. I'm wearing a rash guard in warm Florida waters.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks!
-Todd

Hello Todd and welcome on DB for me i weigh around 100 Kgs and i keep 8 Kgs weight...

I could suggest that you swap your rash guard for a weight vest - it would be more comfortable to wear than a belt & you can add lead shot a little at a time.
