I will be in the south sea of cortez for three months diving. La paz will be my home base. what kind of fish will i be hunting, and what gear will work best? i have a jbl travel gun right now. will this work well for the area? thanks for the insight.

Go to bloodydecks.com and look in the Mexico/Baja forum. Lots of LaPaz info. there which appears to be very spearfishing friendly. Count on Yellowtail and Pargo, Pelagics if you can get a boat ride. Have fun and good luck,

Dave

buy the book, "the Blue Edge" by carlos eyles, its about the area..should be a good mood setter while youre there.. im not very familiar with JBL guns, but from the sounds of it looks like you will need a reef gun (like a size 100) and a bluewater gun (like a 120 or 130)..
Please post some pictures when you get back..
have fun, happy hunting :)
