You know After reading Erik's post I had to think of the movie Soylent Green. I know this is a dark thought but it crossed my mind. If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is a must see. I think it's the last of the true "Industrialization" movies (I could be wrong though).

I was quite surprised at how 'solyent green' was very updated with current views of the grim future due to mankind ruining earth. Was it extremely innovative for it's times or have we just been living with the knowledge of us killing earth for that long? or in other words, when did we discover global warming?

Sorry folks but Observer is right on the money, this is old news, the date on the article is almost one year ago. The part about the dead zone off of the Gulf coast of Florida was from Spring of this year, so this could still be going on. That is unless Katrina had something to say about that.

There is a problem this year (2005) on the West Coast of Canada....low fish volumes and low O2 levels. Outstanding visibility during the summer, which is unusual.
The dead zones off of Oregon and in the Gulf have become annual events.
