Do any of you guys experience hypoxic euphoria near the end of a long breath hold or dive? I read that hypoxic euphoria occurs shortly before blackout?
Well I did a search and didn't find anything about it here, and it seems odd to me that it has not been discussed. Personally, I just started training my breathhold recently. My best dry static is 4:15, and I felt close to black out at the end of it, was dizzy and weak for several minutes afterwards, but certainly did not experience any kind of euphoria. Does hypoxic euphoria happen to everyone, every time, or is it only some people, or only on some occasions, or is it more of a myth than anything else? Or does anyone even know???!?! Enquiring minds want to know!
...ok, I'll stop now.
