i will be there in the water at 10:00 if anyone wants to go let me know or meet me there

I'll be at Lake Geneva with another guy or two...Feelin' lonely? C'mon down to my house...I'll be at Lake Geneva by 1:00...I have some yard work and an oil change to do :head...Then it's off to the lake until the sun goes down!

If I don't see ya...GOOD LUCK!

I'll be trying to target monster Crappie's and Bluegill's!!! Bglaeser and Khel might even be there! But for sure me and my friend Jeff who is fun to hang with...He's from Russia and I just love his sense of humor and his accent!

Oh...And I just found out...His FAVORITE fish is SHEEPSHEAD or DRUM!!!!! ( I think we'll be heading to Mendota someday soon just for a Sheepshead hunt! )

He likes to eat freshwater drum? Ive always heard that they taste like carp.

I've eaten drum and they weren't that bad- not a super big piece of meat, but it tasted just fine. I've also eaten Burbot and they were good as well.

The Madison lakes a full to the top with Drum, some of them pretty big, so you could easily make a meal for the whole family in a short amount of time.

They arent nearly as oily tasting as carp. They do smoke up pretty good though there is enough oil in them to stand a good deep smoke. When we were kids we used to collect the otolith bones and wear them around our necks like perl divers. Also the white bass smoke up pretty good to.
Just remember the crushed ice, for best flavor pack them.

Mark Endris, Regional Fisheries Coordinator, West Central DNR Station (Eau Claire) has the state record on his office wall. Came out of the Mississippi. It looks nothing like the drum we see - all bumpy and disfigured.

I love Burbot- easy to clean (nail the head to a board and peel the skin off back to the tail) and nice texture, like lobster. Cook them in butter... :inlove

Ive actually heard that burbot is really good. Despite looking funny, and apparently smelling TERRIBLE while raw. Was drum the other kind of fish other than carp that you guys speared in the "Holy Diver" SSYC video?

no- those were gizzard shad.
