Welcome, Narieshore -
No better place for what You want to do. Loads of fun to be had while some of the threads here go long withouth going deep. :t

Best,

Welcome to DeeperBlue!

Learning to relax helps more than you may expect.

Relaxing in the real ocean helps the most, but see if you can find a training group to dive with in your area. I found one in Munich of all places and it is a great way to keep yourself practicing regularly. I find that helps with longer better than deeper.

Going out helps you go deeper. Lake dives perhaps, where are you?

Where are you starting from? What sort of things do you like to look at?

welcome Narieshore! I am interested in your name... what is it from?

Hi everyone,
I live in Ontario, Canada; as for name - it is after Lake in Northen Poland where all started many, many years ago - swimming, snorkeling, attempted spearfishing with makeshift equipment (without any propulsion), underwater photography with adapted case; at time scuba diving was beyond reach; Last February after talking to friend I decided to get scuba certification; I got really hooked; the moment I surfaced, I was thinking when and where it is going to be next dive; there was also matter of magic 130ft dept I often looked down into deep wondering if it would be nice to go there; then on one of the trips, my instructor told me that he could dive 40-60ft wreck on one breath!!!! after month of practicing in my shallow 15ft lake I got to the deck of the same wreck; now I want more....
So here I am, at DB looking for further advices, equipment discussions etc......

You've come to the right place. It's all here.
Enjoy :)

oh nice!!! i had my first experience in cold water recently, and i must admit i would love to do it again, and go colder! I have heard loads about the lakes, there are a couple of threads as well going on on Deeperblue about them.. speak to Jon, maytag and a few others.

Welcome again :)
