Hi Fauad, try the above link and do a search for others there are loads of threads on db about equalisation. If there is something specific you dont understand then post again. There is also a beginner freediving thread which is a very good read.

I might be a noob but in my open water license class I learned that you do not need to equalize if you do not use scuba apparatus
I myself free dove a few times and never had an equalization issue...... only when breathing from a tank

No offense but trust me mate you need to equalize, your open water instructor was wrong.
When you go down to 10 or 15m you will have to equilize or youll get a burst eardrum or some other problem without a doubt

jeez who taught you that? Unless you have holes in your ears its humanely impossible not to have to equalise. You might be doing it naturally by swallowing. To what depth did you freedive without equalising?
well probably not 10 to 15 meters..... im talking about basic recreational snorkeling/diving when u see something interesting
at shallower depths..... and its not instructor, it states so in the PADI dive books, I can only assume freediving is a different department then simple snorkeling dives which it mentions

PADI teaches you to equalise every metre. The skin diving course also mentions equalising, i would be interested to know exactly where it says that you "do not have to equalise" as this would be a huge misprint on PADI's part.
Yeah its equalising but not in the form of nose holding equalising, I equalise with my throat and ears without having to pinch my nose or pop my ears to equalise, its handy to learn, i dont get any pain in head, ears etc in or out of water, its good for photography as i have a photography book from all the countries and places ive dived including dates,weather,bar reading,fish species,sizes etc, its very handy for that one shot, without having to use my hands to equalise, which ive done before and scared of a number of fish weither it be spearfishing or photography....I go tomorrow spearfishing at 7am, its the best time i find plenty of big bass,sargo and double figure grouper around just passed rocks on sand floor
