Sorry if there is a thread for this, but I cant seem to find the search function on this forum.

So. I was going on vacation and really wanted to do some filming under water of corse :)
Started to think about making a housing myself ,since the price on these things are crazy.all i really needed was a pipe with a glass on it..
So, I got a pipe that would fit my camera with the widangle lense(important) it was the right length and diameter.
Nex thing I needed to close of the back, so I moulded it shut whit some plastics (hypelast) (Lucky for me I work at a factory who make echosounders an has all the right ingrediants)
Then I needed to make a place for the O-ring fitting,to make this thing waterproof around the glass.Moulded that thing on,and put it in a machine to make the o-ring hole.
Now all I needed was a glass,Well I ended up with a flexiglass solution, and it works great, It scratches easily, but all I need is to take extra care....

driled some holes and screw the thing onto the house.
The camera is fitted to the plexi with welcro
Lucky for me the whole thing has perfect beyonce in the water.. I can push it along with my index finger..

Its great and fun to use,I encurage all to try to make something like it..
Oh and I pressure tested it at my workplace.. Its good down to 80m.. atleast !! :)

But as a newbie I wont be going there for some time lol
Good luck ..
Oh and here is the movie from my vacationt

Amazing invention:D Honestly i would be scared to use handmade housing for my camera:/
By the way were was this video taken??

There is little risk. since I pressure tested the house down til 80meters (whitout the camera inside)
And it didnt leak ;)

The video is from Skiathos Greece 2007.

No sign of it being to hot no... lots of air around the camera thoe.. since it is an old one :(
