8pm BBC 2 Tuesday 23rd January - Don't Die Young programme about the lungs in which I put Dr Alice Roberts to the test with a bit of dynamic...

took 4 hours to film but will only take up 1 1/2 minutes of your time tomorrow night apparently.

Apologies if I talked complete rubbish. It was filmed just after an all night journey back from Egypt and Alice had just cracked one of my favourite fins so I wasn't in the straightest of minds.. plus the pool was freezing after that long...

enjoy!

nice one Sam!

I'd have said that cracking another freediver's monofin is a very fast way to die young....

Very nice Sam!

Strange to be going across a pool rather than down it - best way to give yourself a nice bump on the head :rcard

Cheerio,
Ben

and she couldn't do a full length so we had to do widths....

oh yeah and they asked me to swim as close to the surface as possible because it "looked pretty when my body broke the surface" so I would have got a few penalties had it been a comp!!

Good publicity for the sport, well done! P.S. was your 'pupil' one of the presenters of Coast only with mad red hair???

The segment was at the beginniing of the show so I have just watched it.

Sam the TV star!

What was the pool's width? About 20 metres?

think it was 22m or so, gorgeous pool! Alice did really well actually, she'd never tried a monofin before and only had a few minutes practise before we started filming.

too bad it was only a minutes thirty... it's not often to have you, gorgeous girl swimming into your tv.
do it again please.

Yeah, lovely little bit, but where was the freediving realism?

Where was the snot, the phlegm, the lube??? Where was someone yelling Mask! Noseclip!!!

Tv is all about pretty things these days....
