To avoid emerging controversia and false infomations the organization would like to clarify the following:
On despite that the rights of the championships images are esclusivity of the organization, to meet the needs of the athletes, we have permitted to whoever asked to get in the water and film and to someone we also gave free accomodation and logistic support. We have asked to exchange the official cameras images with the images of the various tv troups.
Except one, all the others have not respected the agreement leaving without giving us anything.
Now we have many request for the official images, but considering the misconduct showed, whoever needs these images will have to pay for them.

Ricky, I made the agreement with Ivan to color grade my surface recordings (UW camera), edit them down and ship them to you guys as soon as possible.

For reference, I think Stig was the only one who gave his recordings on site to Apnea Academy. The honor system only work so far.

Hello everyone,

I have emailed Ricky about this privately but for the record want to make clear where I stand on this, as I was one of the biggest filmers there, with three videographers. It took us until into last week to digitise and log all our footage and so there was no chance of handing something to Ricky immediately.

I feel a bit sad that Ricky posted this without either mentioning it to me in Sharm or emailing me privately to discuss this, as my intention was never to run off without handing stuff over. I discussed it with Ivan, but have to say all the organisers were so fantastically busy (and the fruits of their hard work paid off in an extremely well-run competition) there wasn't really the opportunity to sit down and have a proper conversation about how and when to hand footage over.

Ricky, rest assured we will sort something out. Please check your email and get back to me. As Chris mentioned, I think most of us were intending to sort this issue out AFTER the event as there simply wasn't time when we were all in Sharm.

I hope this makes my position clear, and Ricky, I look forward to seeing you when I'm back in just over two weeks,

xxx

Cara Sara,

I’m not angry with you or with any other athlete, but with the people that were filming. I’m not blaming you as I’m not blaming Guillaume for the controversy with Channel M6, that maybe with the intent to intimidated me they specified to be the second private TV channel with 4 millions of viewers.
But as there was time to write to ask for the images there could have been time to write and tell me that since in sharm there was no time to give the material it could have been sent later, or not?
But anyway, my post was not against the athletes, but I wanted to inform the athletes that unfortunately things hadn’t work out how they had to and that after all the work to organize all we don’t want to be teased and as they can tell in many different ways the truth is that the agreement was not respected.

Ricky
