Inspired by Omega3's setup have been on the lookout for something similar for a while, although this type of setup does not seem to appear 2nd hand very often. There are a few options I've researched (I really like the look of the kaboat, but was unable to buy in the UK).

I recently bought a 2nd hand Sea Eagle Paddleski which came with a Sailing Rig. It now has a 3.5hp fitted!

Got it out yesterday for its test drive!

Review ;

Just under 15min setup time from boot to trolley!
Easy to launch. I reckon you can clear the outboard in 1ft of water, and can paddle off in less than that.
Have not used the outboard on full revs yet! I reckon you could have a smaller outboard, but at least there is something in reserve if needed. I need to fashion an extension for the outboard arm for comfort. I'm sure with confidence I will open the outboard up!
Easy to move under paddle but you won't win any sprints! Handy however to have a reserve if outboard fails.
Easy to recover from water and took 8mins from trolley to boot.
No one fancied occupying the 2nd seat on its test drive! but is designed for 2.

Unsure what to expect from the sailing rig! That will be another weekend.

I reckon it will serve its function (getting around the bay in my spearo kit on flat summer days), and some lure fishing inshore. Hopefully will make a fun family yak also. It is possible to man handle the kit solo which was the main requirement. I'm often short of time and if I can grab 2hrs for some bass fishing in the estuary I should be able to launch this solo and lift it down steps, over walls making short trip worthwhile still.

Now need to rig it for spearing / fishing. The aluminium bars offer a lot of options for fixtures.

Very cool! I just made a new transom for mine at work. I was inspired by some fella in the gulf of Mexico . His pics may still be on spearboard. He also had an extended tiller arm. Looked like a bit of UPVC tube maybe with a bit lining the end with neoprene to grip the tiller.

Cheers
