Hey all,

Job hunting is looking up this morning but I need to verify you can spear in Indonesia. Anyone on the board now in Indonesia (preferrably local) that I can bounce questions off of offline? Just PM me please.

IYA, your in Malaysia correct?

Anton i know some engineers who live in K.L. if you want their contact let me know.

Thanks Sara,
I am hoping someone from next door in Indonesia is on the board. There were some a while back. I may hit you up on the offer if no one responds and see if the folks in Malaysia know...

Anton, Iyadiver lives in Jakarta. Look him up on spearboard.com too. He's usually on there as there are scubadivers there, and he gets tired of arguing his point of view here. He's a good hunter and knows the good spots in Indo and other Asian spots.
You can spear in Indonesia and pretty much shoot whatever you want. There's little enforcement of any kind. That said, bringing spearguns into the country is apparently illegal (customs will take them and you may get in trouble), but you can buy guns in the stores. You may be able to pay off the customs guys, but they'll want a lot. I saw JBL's and Riffe guns in the few stores in Indo.
Great country,
good luck,
Erik Y.

ahhh, thanks Eirc-I though he was in Malaysia. That is good. As far as spearing on scuba, the situation is similar here. It is amazing how responsibly people do it here but makes sense as many feed their families this way.

Did not know about th eguns ! damn-hate to leave my tahiti! I will look up Iya
