two what percent of your total capacity should you inhale when doing different apneas ie freedive, static, walking etc.

For diving I try to get as close to 100% as I can, no packing.
Same for dry dynamic apnea but not insisting that much.
For dry statics about 90%, really depends on how well stretched I am.
I don't suffer from a dizzy head when inhaling to the max and I don't feel like it's too much pressure as long as I am moving.
I think one could do all those 3 with full inhale+packing, as long as he is well stretched and feels he is safe from a packing blackout and lung injuries.

I do 100%, no packing. This is for static and dynamic. Some people do about 90% or 80%.

I the same. I always do 100% but no packing. It's really personal preference to me. When I begin to pack I lose my concentration. Also, to some people when inhaling to 100% have a tough time relaxing their body. I don't seem to have an issue relaxing when I inhale 100%, then again I do have asthama, so I am probably not inhaling 100% anyways! Hah!

Keep in mind that if you're wearing a wetsuit your 100% inhale will be smaller than your non-wetsuit 100% inhale. I find that I do around 25-30% more packs with the wetsuit on, simply because the wetsuit applies pressure to your core and you inhale less in the initial breath. Ultimately I should have around the same amount of air in my lungs in each case.

Cheers,
Ben

I do pack for static in the pool, but only to 100%. This is also because of the effect of water pressure.

As I can see from Tom Sietas's 8:58 WR video on his last inhale he takes some 80-90% and then packs to 100%(or more).

I think Tom Sietas packs very heavily, to much more than 100%. I haven't seen anyone else packing so much.
