Inserting DiveR fins into Mares X-Wing footpockets

Hi all, I have a pair of mares x-wing footpockets and a used pair of DiveR blades. I'm curious about the orientation of the curve of the fin blades before i screw them into my footpockets. Once inserted, should the curve of the fin blade be curved upwards or downwards...? thanks in advance

Hi Bohan,
Curve goes downwards — the blade should bend toward the sole side of the pocket, not up toward your shin. The whole point of the curve/angle is that your ankle can't point the last 20–30°, so the blade makes up the difference and ends up in line with your leg mid-kick.
Two quick checks before you screw anything in:

1. Slide a blade in loosely, put the pocket on, sit on the floor and point your foot. Correct = the blade looks like a smooth continuation of your shin, one clean line from knee to tip. Wrong way round = an obvious kink at your ankle.
2. Standing up with feet flat, the tips should angle down toward the floor in front of you. In the water (face down, gliding) the tips ride up behind you toward the surface.

Thanks for sharing this! I've been wondering whether DiveR blades fit securely in Mares X-Wing foot pockets. It would be great to hear how the fit feels in the water and if any modifications were needed. Paylocity sign in
