Hi all,
I have Terry Maas' book and video on freediving made easy. I have had it for a number of years. Has anything new come out lately that is better? I am looking for and instructional video or DVD or book on freediving and hunting. I learn better by seeing it than by reading about it. There are some very thick books out there as well. If anyone has expereince with those I would appreciate input too. I posted this over on the beginner freediver forum about a week ago but did not get any hits.

Thanks

Thanks, It looks like it will be Terry Maas for me again. If anyone has read/seen "freedive made easy" AND the bluewater hunting ones, how do they compare?? I am really not looking for the "feel" of freediving or any transcendental (spelling???) aspect of this sport though.

Thank you again.

If you learn by seeing go out and dive with other spearos. The better spearfisherman and divers you dive with the more you can learn.

You are absolutely right. The best way to learn is to actually do something. However, even if I could get out in the water twice a week, or once a week, I still have five or six days a week where I could be learning via VCR or DVD.

I would buy the DVD BLUE: Freediving the California's just as it a good dvd all around. For learn get videos with high level competition divers. CMAS World Champions and such. Look for the Med Divers. Give me a pm and I will find a few titles for you.

I picked up Bluewater Hunting and Freediving by Terry Maas this weekend. Now I am wondering if there is anything out there on coastal hunting. I cannot see myself doing "bluewater" stuff. Everything I do will be kick distance from the shore. Any recommendations??

That DVD I suggested is mostly all shore diving. The best thing is to go out and dive. Today I had to dive over 15 times to spear a certain fish but I finally got it. I learned more in those 15 dives then in all the time I have spent watching videos.
