Hello all i recently migrated from Portsmouth Uk to Limassol Cyprus. At home i was a keen shore and boat fisherman. Now im interested in diving given the change of location and climate.I gave up smoking and just finished my PADI OW course here in Limassol. However i do feel a bit restricted in all the gear for scuba. I think i may be happier just snorkelling and skin diving for the moment as scuba seems a large financial investment as well. At the moment when i dive in the sea i seem quite breathless i think the main reason is im only in trunks, i think a suit is essential ? So hopefully when ive started to master skin diving i can think about fishing too ! Anyway its good to be here amongst this wealth of knowledge. Please feel free to advise me on a suit ive heard smock & long johns are suitable ? Also im looking for a buddy hopefully more experienced (not difficult).Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hello, Chedda. DB is a great resource and place to hang out; glad you found it! Congratulations on your OW cert, health accomplishments, and recent migration. I believe there are other members here from Cyprus.
I, too, had a bunch of questions about wetsuits and found some old threads about it on this board. If your specific questions aren't answered, try posting in a different sub-forum. I have received invaluable advice on the subject from DB members.
