hey allen,

welcome to DB and Ireland.
come west when you get the chance. better spearing than the east, and better surfing too.

anywho, heading off now, prob won't get a chance to post until christmas eve.

merry christmas.

Thanks Abusingelves. Just got back from a surf. Went to a place in Sligo, GRANGE? Good off shore wind but tide was going out and not much of a break. But travelled for like 3 hours so had to do the deed and get wet! I sure looked like a tourist.

But anyways, If you are ever going out for a wave or for spearfishing, Drop us a line. Good to meet new people..

Merry Christmas to you too.

That place was probably streedagh Marshall. strandhill is probably the best known spot and has several surf schools. also a good spot is Tra bhui along the coast between ballina and sligo. A few of my friends are regular surfers and these are a few of their fav spots.Give us a shout if you is heading this way again.

few pics here, few stories

Heres a 2kg octopus i caught yesterday under some rocks at about dusk time and a moray eel ive caught in my fish trap i havent weighed him but judging from the octopus that i weighed its gotta be atleast 3-4kg, Is moray edible like the silver conger or is returning it the best idea, Where having octopus pea and red wine stew from la vela in naples ( italian) sounds good, does anyone else have any recipes for octopus, we have loads of salads but something more stew, cassarole type sounds more filling...Ive caught a 11lb bass last month, unfortuntly the pics i saved on the computer got lost due to a power surge, 3 fase instead of 2.20v, so luckly my mate took a pic for me when i brought her to show him, so i going up at 6pm to see if i can transfer it from his computer 2 a cd so i can show you what i beautiful specimen she was and is, i also caught a 4lb bass but that pic is lost, i managed to retreive some of my pics back from this site thankfully bcos i lost a yr and half of pics, even from wen i started spearfishing, but anyway ill get that pic for ye and the biggest bass thread also

I live in sligo town marshall about 5 mile from strandhill and 20 miles from mullaghmore which is usually good for diving if the weather is good.

Hey Pat, howsit goin with you? At this time of year I think I'd rather be there than here! Congratulations on the bass. It's big bass season in the Med at the moment. Nice octopuss too.
Compliments of the season to you and your family.
