Congrats Rob you will be a great addition boi.
Had a weird weekend on a watsu course very good for relaxation but also healing. Some people get very emotional with it. I was super chilled with and will be implementing some of the moves for courses. Watsu you have been warned.
Serious wind this morning so cant see the vis being good for a while. On a sadder note attended the removal last night of Paul Rennick, he was killed in Austrailia recently by a car. They had a surfboard on the coffin and "gone surfing" carved into coffin. Very poignant. He was a true waterman and was also into kitesurfing, freediving, lifeguarding, long distance swims, you get the idea. Very nice bloke always smiling.In Loving Memory Of Paul Rennick R.I.P. just you wait till I get you in a pool boyo. nah seriously its very good but obviously i will only be using som eparts of it. We did a half day in Egypt on the instructor course with Pellizari and I liked it and thought it was beneficial. we will see this weekend what difference it makes to students for static.Cheers for the link on the boards

How does one become a mentor? Is it like site supporter where u pay a fee or do u just apply? Not interested just curious...... I know that's what killed the cat too!!

Not too sure, maybe just offer help to the team leaders and then if a time comes they need your help, then I guess they'll let you know.

I tried to look for some info on what they are but guess I couldnt really find any? There are a few threads from Stephen welcoming mentors but I don't think its written down anywhere what is involved...

I figure its just, helping to manage the forum... keeping conversation and interaction flowing and monitoring any spam / argueing etc.

In my case, it will be mostly HOF stuff! And the odd bit of nija editing to make you specifically look daft ;)

Hi guys, staff members on db forums are all voluntary positions, staff positions are reviewed when necessary & we are presently undergoing a staff review so you may see a few more new names change colour!

Bob has gained his mentor status because he has proven to be active throughout the forums pages & has posted on many other threads apart from your home Irish thread.
Bob had also offered to help out the forum by running the "OMD hall of fame"
So we (team leaders & the administrator) decided to ask Bob if he would like to join the staff.
Staff do not get paid but do receive free life time supporter status, which would normally cost $10 a year plus huge storage space for pictures & Pm's etc...
If anyone is interested in becoming a staff member they can contact any of the team leaders or the Administrator himself.

Staff do have certain allocated areas to look after & are expected to visit the forum on a regular basis.
Mentors have certain tools available to them which allow them to edit post in their allocated area(s)
Team leaders have the tools to edit all areas & are expected to monitor the forum as a whole.
It is very unusual for individual staff to make any difficult or demanding decisions without first discussing the issue with other staff on one of the staff threads however we can ban spammers or edit simple mistakes & the like independently
