Is shopping for a Free Diving suit different than Scuba?

I know the title makes me sound like an idiot! I have been diving for 15 years but am new to free diving and i need a new warm water suit so i figure that I would make it a free diving style suit.

What I mean is, on SCUBA you are under water for long periods of time, free diving not so much. Basically if I wear a 3mm in 75F water on scuba, can I get away with a 1.5mm suit in free diving style suit. Specifically the 2 piece, that would give my 3mm in the core.

Any suggestions would by appreciated.

One big difference. Using Scuba involves steady work. For free diving you will spend half your time doing as little moving as possible. We spend less than 2 hours in the water and for most of us 75 is the temperature where more than 3 mm feels better. Depends a lot on age , body fat and what you're used to. Also 1 1/2 is 3-4 times easier to damage. IMHO
