Is the Training Mask 2.0 useful for apnea training?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Interesting piece of kit. I would guess that the answer is based on:

1. How much air it lets in.

2. How you use it.

Basically if it creates an oxygen deficit and allows you to train at such a level without blacking out it might be useful (some people breathe through a straw etc). But if you end up getting all the oxygen your body needs by breathing harder, I guess it'll end up strengthening some of the muscles involved in breathing (like those power breathing tools) but it won't particularly help you for freediving - you'll be better off spending your trinin time in other ways.

Plus depending on where you live, you might end up being arrested if seen in public sporting one of those lol

Are you rolling in doh?

I much rather invest that money in a good mask, fitting suit, gas/petrol, pool entrance fees, freediving holiday etc!

I agree with Simos' view.

Also I think that the mask can actually be counter productive to apnea.
Because you teach your body to breath harder, and have higher heart rate in order to keep the gas exchange up with demand. Teaching one's body and mind a wrong reaction.

Thanks guys. F... that mask. :)

My next purchase should probably be a better mask. The one I have is cheap and looks moronic.
