Well, i finally got the 2mm Spectraspeed 570Lbs. strength (spectra core with some material, in the outside) line from Morifish, thank you Mori (highly recommend, fast shipping) and Headlands for giving me the heads up.

Anyways so i rigged the gun, and i used the following knot with a double wrap of 300Lbs. mono shooting line with a 500ish pound swivel clip:

http://www.outdoorsite.com/knots/knot7.cfm

im looking to take on mostly groupers and spanish macks, trevally and other fish in the Jack family when i get back home to Kuwait mostly ranging in the 2 to 20 kilo range.

Will this know hold up? i already burned the ends so it wouldnt fray. and made a knot inside the reel so that if a fish took out all the line in the reel i wouldnt lose it. i also plan to attach the gun to a float (Omer Master) and have ordered a foam filled float line, 50ft., manufactured by Rob Allen http://www.norcalfreedive.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29&products_id=188

if the knot is good then i can proudly say that my first masterpiece is complete..hehehe :D

any pieces of advice for the setup?
thanks y'all and happy Thanksigiving

I use a double figure eight on my lines. find a climber, he'll teach you.

that being said I don;t see much wrong with your knot. if it holds, it holds :D

Hi, i'm a long time reader of deeperblue, but i never post before, so maybe this is the time, anyway your knot is pretty good for the job and also the double eight Amphibious was telling you, but only if you're thinking about another take a look at these knots:

http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html

And in the second link, try in a piece of line the Bowstring Knot is neat, strong, well just read the properties in the website. And good luck.

That's a nice knot and a nice gun too, CRESSI SUB Comanche...

right on , you got that quick!

glad i could help out . about the knots i think im to full of turkey to even begin to explain it ,but yours looks fine . I will take a picture of how i do it if ya want and post it , pretty easy and very strong but right now.. must sleep .

i love the yellow , ive got that and the purple for when i feel a little fruity jk :D

how did you attach the line to the reel? Here we like to use a short length of mono that I can break with a good tug if I need to.

here you go Rig.
