great photo roland! i love the way she is clutching on to that tag like a gold bullion!! :D

congrats linda!

Just to add a bit, the 5th of June we had the italian DYF championship. Matteo Garaldi won with 191,20 m. 12 athletes were past 150 m.

Not bad.

According to the AIDA ranking as it appears in:
http://www.apneamania.com/code/page.asp?pageID=13
it should be the best performance of the year.

Now could someone explain me why Italian are not part of AIDA? I am new to the competitive part of freediving (which I practice just for the pleasure it gives me) and I have no idea what's differentiating the various organizations.

Cheers

Wow thats amazing there are some great divers over there. It would be good if everyone could sort out thier differences and compete together under the same rules. Any idea what Matteos pb would be in dynamic? Do you know if that was with a mono or bi fins? How long it took?

Cheers Nathan Watts

Great performance, I'm working hard to accoplish the same one :)

I feel it's more the ego's in the various organisations than anything else that keep the FD community seperated. Websites like Deeperblue overcome these little differences very easily and I do see a bright future comming. People are learning fast these days.

Love Peace and Water!

It's just politics amigo. The Italians pulled out a few years back after some questionable judging, as far as they were considered.
I'm with you: most of us respect a good performance, no matter what banner is flying. Italia certainly has a big share of fantastic divers!

Congrats Linda! keep up the good work and be safe. (if you're reading this.

hi,

linda just retook the national record with a dive to 66m.

the dive was very good and within a few seconds of the ideal. preparation wasn't ideal, though, as it was quite cold today. i'm pleased to see that the training does pay off :)

BlueSkunk rocks!

cheers, roland
