I finished a novel, a thoroughly disreputable novel that I'll never publish under my real name, and it's being edited now. I started a science fiction story with a truly radical premise but have bogged down for a bit. I'll let it percolate in the brain for a while. Maybe things will come together.
Good point, Bill, except for one thing. While Macs have a much lower incidence of viruses than PC's, when a Mac does get a virus, it's dead. Right now, I have both.

I'm trying to write a story about star colonization where nearly everything in the tale is based on current technology and research. No starships, just gates based on the goings on at CERN, yanno? The one impossibility in it is that the humans colonize a planet that they think has no intelligent life. It does. The native inhabitants are arborial endothermic pseudonudibranchs (giant warm-blooded sea slugs that live in trees instead of the ocean) who, against all probability have DNA that matches people. Eventually, cross-fertilization happens (probably in hot, steamy detail) and when the baby is born with purple eyes, cerulean hair and the ability to change its skin color to match its surroundings, the central government on Earth panics and cuts all contact leaving them on their own.
Heavens, no! I haven't gotten that far. A friend, who is a truly capable writer is editing the first book. When she gets done, it will probably be about a third as long and have to be rewritten. This will probably happen 3-4 times. Then we can find a publisher. In the meantime, I'll try to make the second one make sense. I got another idea in the shower last night . . . :hmm:

Mine is doing fine. I've gotten nearly all the old programs working, the ones I want, anyway, and the Geek Squad managed to save all my bookmarks. So I'm fairly happy. Tonight is the Neptune's meeting so I won't be around much until tomorrow. See y'all.
