Sorry to learn of Jack's Passing . I am looking at one of his Magnum Spear Guns with a big Riffe Reel and break away tube on my office wall right now. He was the father of spear fishing and used to Bad Mouth us Tankers as he calld Scuba divers. I dont beleve he ever used one . Wonder what ever became of his Very Old Classic home made Surf Board that hung in His Garage up on Capastranno st . But used to trip with Capt Bill Johnson on the Scratcher or sand Dollar whenever I could afford the luxury of one of those trips. . Those old guys are all Dearly Missd and they just dont make them like those guys very often these days . Hay thanks for the chance here to give my regards...Frank....out

Didn't know him him in person...but defintitely in spirit. Prayers to him and his and may he be in HIM now. Al +

Hello and welcome on DB i do not know this guy before but seems he left good things behind him...

All best

Awesome link Bill. Love those old pictures - fantastic. 94 - a good innings for anybody, especially someone living life to the full as it appears these guys did. Any idea what age he stopped diving?

I remember a post about the passing of one of the fathers a year or two ago. Thought it might have been Jack Prodonavitch but a search didn't reveal it.

I am a great fan of the book "Last of the Blue Water Hunters" by Carlos Eyles and there is some nice history including pics of the Fathers, of which Jack was one.

Personally I hope that when they ask of me when I've passed on, "When did he give up diving?", they reply "The day he died".

Dave.

:)Good thought OMD. I was just about to say, I wonder if it was a diving accident that did for him at 94 - a huge fish perhaps?
70 Bill! Looking good ;)
