JBL wishbones suck!!! I broke yet ANOTHER one today! Three already this summer! Only this time the broken wishbone ALSO sliced one of the OTHER bands pretty deeply!!!!:vangry Now I'm down to TWO bands again! AAAARGH!

I can't wait to get my R.A.'s in September!

For my JBL I'm gonna go with cable wishbones from now on! The metal ones are constantly breaking...And ALWAYS at the wrong moment! :vangry

I had problems with the wire wishbone on my old Rob Allen- it frayed and started to slice up my hands.:crutch

I replaced them in an articulated wishbone from OMER and never had any more issues.

The Dacron wishbones I had on both of my wooden guns lasted a lot longer than any metal ones I've ever owned.

Thanks Jon! Never even thought about pickin' up a few of them (articulated) wishbones...:duhI'd use them on the JBL. I could try to smooth out the JBL nothces more than I have already and possibly use dacron or dyneema on it too? I had to smooth them down a bit 'cuz they were so sharp I cut my hands a few times...

When I get the R.A.'s I'll pick up a few lengths of bulk 16 & 18mm & start "rollin' my own"!!! :t

I use stainless cables from Ray Odor (Spearfishing Supplies by Ray Odor). They hold up well and are reasonably priced. I use dyneema on my Riffe sharkfin style shafts.

Most of the guys I dive with stay away from the solid steel wishbones.

Both you guys are in Wisconsin - didn't know you could spearfish in Wisconsin.

Silentspear,
Since you're in San Diego, call Gat-Ku and ask them. They are in San Diego. Since they make really good pole spears, they may have a connection to the best rubber around (or it may all be the same for the small diameter stuff).
