According to an article in the German magazine Stern, this summer European seas (Atlantic, Nordic Sea, the Med) will be infested with an invasion of jellyfish. Especially box jellyfish (Chiropsalmus, fire medusa) may pose a problem for swimmers and divers.

We have this every year in the Med coast of Spain. Sometimes it's one jellyfish for every 3 cubic meters of water. Good training for observation and reactions! Luckily the currents and winds where I usually dive keeps the area pretty clear while the other beaches are full.

I ran into a Jelly the other day with my face. Dosen't feel the greatest add 4 horse flies sucked through the snorkle and my day was over.

hahha yeah we've all been gang-banged by those little bastards at one point or another..
just make sure that you dont get stung on the face, you would be surprised how many people would jump at the chance to pee on you lol

Last year I heard about some kind of creme which should protect you from the jellyfish. There are some substances in it which are used by fish who can live between the tantakels.

Does anybody know something about that? Does is work?

I just saw an ad on TV announcing a sun lotion plus jellyfish protection for children. Can't remember the name of the product, but If I see it again I'll post it here.
