Hi there,

I am looking for the contact details of a certain spearo who runs (or works in) a diveshop in Jerzu, Sardegna. From what I saw of the town, it's likely the only dive-/sports- shop there, but with my limited italian I could find nothing on the web. The Shop is located on a piazza by the city hall, right next to a small bar.

The story behind goes like this:
I went to sardegna a couple of weeks ago with my girlfriend and had accidentally met up with a woman who gave me her husbands phone-#, so we could go climbing together. He then supposed meeting at the above-mentioned bar in Jerzu (which is better known for its climbing sites than for its diving, being located ~300+m above sea level.. )
I had gotten there early and was looking for said bar when I stumbled upon the diveshop and finally got to put my hands on some real fins (as I had only had cheapo-stuff until then).
The guy in the store was really nice and gave me an excellent introduction into what to look for when buying fins. Considering the language barrier, this must have taken some patience on his part. He first thought I was american, but I could straighten that out and we struggled through the conversation with some italian/french mix.
So I ended up with returning from a climbing trip with a brand new pair of cressi Gara 3000 and an invitation to go diving/spearing when I return to Sardegna...

Anyway, I just wanted to thank him for helping me this much (and for leading me to the Gara3000, heheh..). He has taken a big part in leading me to do more freediving and as such has earned my eternal gratefulness.

I hope someone here can help me,

Richard

P.S.: I found a picture of the piazza. One can almost see the shop on it

Not an easy task, I have to say. I actually tried on the italian yellow and white pages, but with no address and no name, I could not find a sport shop in Jerzu (NU). it seems there are none just there.. No chanches you remember the address? I was thinking to find the bar at least, but there are few and so I am back to square one. I guess you don't have the receipt of the shop right?... yea too easy, I agree.. Sorry, I am of no help.

Well, the shop is on the same piazza that the city hall is on (it's only two houses away: the big grey block on the picture.)
And, no, I don't have the receipt - I think... I'll double check, though..

Sanso, I've been googling every day for it since your first post. But couldn't find anything. I'll try the old way: I'll call a random telephone number of Jerzu and ask if they know the shop.

Good idea Spaghetti..

the good italian way.. in that case I would try this addresses and telephone numbers :
Serra Rosa Bar
08044 Jerzu (NU) - 240, CORSO UMBERTO PRIMO
tel: +390782 70141
or
PASTICCERIA BELVEDERE
Vargiu Salvatore
08044 Jerzu (NU) - CORSO UMBERTO I
tel: +390782 70432

corso umberto primo is where the comunal library is located.. I am actually just guessing...

good luck
