For the Day of the Wreckdive everyone can bring their own drink. Also, a dish to pass. This could even be a event your family could attend as I believe there is a Park.

sounds like funi might be there will let you know for sure closer to time

that beach link s pretty cool how offen is it updated

I'll be there atleast ONE of the days...

Dotey....Did you ever take a "hunter's safety course"? One of the MAIN rules is "Be sure of you're target and BEYOND!"... I know your brother has big lips and all, and he is somewhat scaley and "carp" like...but c'mon dude....rofl

All of us should be "FULLY" aware of WHERE our dive buddy or buddie's are...You are out there looking out for each other...Not just yourself... In the water, we as humans are not in our "element"...Things can and do go wrong VERY quickly. It's your duty to know where your buddies are AT ALL TIMES...People are gonna be scared to go spearin' with you...Even the "Whopp"... :naughty I hope you learned a lesson at "The Outlet" today...I would not want to "feel" a spear buried into my flesh...Not to mention you'd put a hole in my wetsuit...And my wife would kick your ass too! :blackeye

As always...Be careful and be safe...One in the same...I'm sure it'll take you awhile to live that one down...Live and learn my friend...Live and learn. But most of all LEARN!

Maybe you should trade me your AMI for my JBL...Then no one would have to worry about gettin' speared as long as they stayed atleast 10 feet away!!!roflNow thats a terrific idea I think! :t

No hard feelin's bud....Just tellin' ya like it is...And I'm sure you're brother gave you one heckuv'an'asschewing...Atleast I hope he did!

I would skip the Sebastopol and move it down the beach a little bit further to dive the Volunteer. She's as wide as the Sebastopol is long and about 4-5 times the total length. The other advantage is the Fair weather gap that's located in that part of the Wall will allow you to swim out into open water and hit some clearer water. There's usually carp swimming the wall so it might be fun to bring your gun along as well.

The Sebastopol has really gotten weeded up the past few seasons and the lake level has dropped so much that I bet there's less than 10' of water over her. She used to be a fun wreck to dive on when I was a teenager because you could take stuff off the wrecks back then- but thats been illegal to do since the late 80's so don't get caught trying it. there's nothing to see but some ribs in the sand, but if you dig down in between he ribs there used to be all kinds of goodies.

Another option would be to go up to Atwater beach and dive the Appomattox. She lies in 18'-23' of water and is HUGE! The wreck is over 300' long and I've had salmon swim right up to me when the conditions are right. The down side is the long walk down the hill and the gate at the top. Sometimes it's locked and other times it's open. If you tell them you're a diver they should let you in for free- depending on which kid is working there that day. It's also a great beach to surf when the storm waves come in.

Yeah- I was thinking of going to the VOLUNTEER. I just had the link to The Sebastopol. I'll have to get more exact location of the VOLUNTEER from you - or someone as the time gets closer.

The APPOMATTOX sounds interesting too.

The 21st is the opener for PERCH in Lake Michigan. Should be fun

I've read that the "opener" for "Yellow Perch" is June 16th...???

Not that I'll get out on Lake Michigan any sooner than the 21st...But what the heck!?

Is it the 16th or the 21st??? Says 21st in the regs but it say's the 16th on another "current" part of the DNR website...

The Wisconsin DNR really has a way with making people confused about it's reg's...So what else is new hey! :head

My son's 2nd birthday party is gonna be on the 21st...So I won't be there atleast on that date. It took some deep diging, but I did however find the info on the 2008-09 Wisconsin regs regarding the "Lake Michigan Yellow Perch Season Opener" it IS June 16th as I had thought! I WILL BE THERE ON THE 16th! Hopefully "most" of the "Hook & Line" fishermen with thier boats won't be! But I'll have my Yak with anyways so no big deal!

Click on link and scroll down to June 16th....See....I told ya! SOMEONE had to set this straight! Anyone wanna go with I already marked it as a "day off" for me!

This sounds amazing. Sorry I couldn't make it to todays event, I was working last night until midnight, and just woke up. Dusten tried to shoot whopperhead? Lol I haven't been on in a long time. Don't worry Dusten, Ive got one dive buddy thats had TWO close calls like that. On one occasion I was using an old gun, and had the safety on, but the gun mysteriously went off, and came within one inch of his gut! (My finger wasn't even on the trigger!) Pinggene told me that only one diver should be down at a time, while the other watches from the surface. Thats the way me and my boys have done it since. Besides, if someone needs to secure a shot on a fish, its best to have a guy at the top with full lungs to do it. The wreck dive would be sweet, I just have to see with football and stuff.

Just wondering who all is planning on attending this weekends event? I read a report on Milwuakee Beaches being closed because of Ecoli in Lake Michigan. IF it's just going to be me and dotey. I will cancel the event. Let me know..........

I'm not gonna make it...Did'nt make it for the "perch" opener either...All work and no play is making Dan a dull boy...:head

I'll probably be squeezing in my Lake Michigan dives after I do jobs in or near Milwaukee, Racine, or Kenosha...Not too many distant trips will be taken this year just for the sake of spearfishing. As it is - I drive about 150 miles a day for work.

The 20th is my son's 2nd birthday and the 21st is the party!!!:friday

I'm gonna get to know Lake Geneva pretty well this summer!

I will be doing Lake Geneva Sunday....If you guys (Whop & Dotey) cancel at South Shore well then c'mon down!

If I dont HAVE to drive I'd gladly hit the "big lake"!!! I'd like to nab some perch!

wait... this sounds cool, i think i might consider going! wait..dammit i have to work..shoot...

!!!!!!!EVENT CANCELED!!!!!!

Due to Ecoli on the beaches in Milwaukee, Bad Weather and lack of participation.

I'm hoping to get to Lake Michigan on MONDAY - somewhere- where ever it's not contaminated. North of Milwuakee, Kenosha area or Sheboygan. I'll have to do some looking.

Yeah my buddy got that criptospridium (sp) once up there and lost almost 35 lbs and he was only average build. It really knocked the crap out of him!

I saw that after I posted up a thread too, I don't wish to dive and get the scuttles in my new wetsuit... :blackeye

As soon as the weather clears up and the rains hide for a week I will be in all the way! Let me know if you plan this again I would love to come out.
