I just moved to key west and am looking for someone to dive/practice and spearfish with. I have completed martin stepanek's level 2 class and know the saftey drills.I curently dive at 70' and have ststic apnea of 3 min and want to improve!!!

Way to go, GBS! You done good. I want to come down there and see you doing your thing, so we'll do some freediving then, okay ?

GBS probably isn't fazed by the current weather at all! Perfectly good diving weather from his point of view. Been there, done that.

HAHA well I guess I will have to make it to one of those. The last time I was in FT. Lauderdale I stoped by the address on there website cause I wanted to check it out...it was there PO box thing. Funny story if you where there I guess. Still want to get in a class though.

You should when I started I had a static apnea of 45 second or so and a depth of 30'. Do you live in the keys?

Yes I live in Key West also. Yeah I am gonna try and get in the one thats coming up in January, i think it is, to lazy to look right now. That is a good improvement you got.
When we go out the people I go with scuba (mostly) and I don't, doesn't really bother me till we are below 60ft then I would like to have another freediver around.

I have to work fantasy fest and then I will be free and ready to dive.

if you have a boat big enough, I got gps#s for the bar from my charter boat friend. past the reef it drops off to about 100 for a mile or so then comes back up to 40' for a bit with ledges and then drops off and off into the gulf stream 600' to about 1000' I dont freedive at your level yet but i am in excellent shape I have all my gear I have a 17 ft mako in the water in a slip behind turtle kraals. I just made my first two spearguns, one is 71"overall and shoots a 60" by 9/32 ABBiller spear with 3 3/4" bands! Ready for blue water!I have lived here for 3 1/2 years and I got lots of friends with GPS#s!I have been spearing for 14 years but only now getting good since living here

I don't have a boat but am very happy to hear there is someone here who wants to go free dving I will be working at the corner of duval and carolin for the next two days in a hyatt both from 9 to 4 if you want to swing by and have a chat about how we can arange a boat trip

I would love to watch you do your job gbs.Tell you what,I'll bring my boat down and work for you for free.Kind of like an apprenticeship. Then we'll go freediving.
Tony

I got gps#s from my boss, (he won KW spearfishing tournament last year / 70 # amberjack from there)black groupers are all over. supposedly the best spot period.
