He didn't get entangled, he was doing a deep air dive (300'+) and was narked out of his gourd.:head Eventually the C02 got so high that he blacked out and drowned. The strands in the video looked like soft coral to me

Darwin claimed this guy- not a rope.

I think 'entangled' is a bit of a translation stretch - perhaps confused or disoriented is more what they were saying. Just a guess. Clearly he was not caught in anything.
 
yeah just makes you think thats why i try not to dive alone if i dont have too
 
Theres one video on youtube where a guy is in a dive group, and he just starts like "free falling" to the bottom. Hes cruising. And then it goes to a bunch of different peoples reactions about whats happening/happened. Its pretty scary, he keeps on making noises. Some people think hes calling for help, other people think its just a background noise? Its interesting/scary. Worth finding.
 
Wow, I read doteys comment on the video and thought it was what he said. Then I watched this video, and found out that this is the video I was talking about. Sorry for being excruciatingly dumb.
 
hey its ok well let it slide this time roflwhen i first watched the vid i thought he had got tangled up but as i watched and jon informed me that he didnt get tangled but its still a scary sight to see

That said:
It is virtually impossible to dive (scuba) without seeing the byproduct of the industry that created the circumstances for this "accident". His death is a function of his blatant foolishness. It is also a function of abysmal training and gear designed for a sales floor instead of an ocean. People aren't taught the consequences of their actions underwater or how to manage themselves and their dive.
The difference between this video and the goofballs you see in any caribbean dive resort is just the magnitude of the foolishness. Every diver here has been on a boat with guys who hit a 130' in recreational gear having no clue how dangerous it is. One blown o-ring later and they'd be another video like this.
-People die because of the current trends in the scuba industry, but money talks. That's sad.-
