Are blue blocks positive karma and grey ones negative karma ?

How much karma can one award at one time and how many positive karma hits must you get before it appears as another blue block in the general forum ?

Does a negative karma have the same weight as a positive karma ? Will enough negative karma erode your blue blocks till you possibly even have grey blocks appearing the open forum ?

Greg.

Greg,

The exact Karma calculation is based on several factors - some of which even we aren't aware of.

However the basics of it is this:

Blue - Positive
White/Grey - Neutral
Red - Negative

You gain different Karma based on certain criteria such as number of posts, length of membership, number of replies to a thread you created, etc... as well as ratings by your fellow members.

The impact another member can have on you is dependant on their Karma rating (i.e. someone with high Karma has a bigger impact than someone with low Karma). You can only award on Karma rating per post and there is a limit to how often you can post Karma in one day.

As you receive Karma your rating goes up and down which is reflected in the little blocks under your name. If you continually get negative Karma then yes, eventually your rating will go from Blue, to Grey, to Red.

Hope that helps.
