OK, so I'm moving back to the mid-west and will have to go to Florida frequently to visit older family members and the warmer waters.

I am completely Florida-ignorant so here's my short-list of ?'s: Are there many places in the Ft. Lauderdale area, or any other part of Florida, that you can get to good fish-holding, freediving water in a yak? How about charters for freedivers? I'm a beginner so I don't look at the deep stuff yet, 10-20 meters is plenty for me.
What's the bluewater scenario? Ours is 50 miles offshore and almost always too burly to even consider diving, you'd never get back in the boat.

Lauderdale might be ok, but just up the road in Palm Beach is some excellent kayak diving in that depth range and deeper. Several DBers in the area. Do a google, freediving in Palm Beach. There are some great springs to dive, Blue Springs north of Orlando is my favorite. I go up there a few times a year.
