Hi guys,

For those who can read Spanish, or who a are willing to use such as Google or Bing translations, I just completed reading of Joseba's account of his spearing journey around South America.

A few years ago, he spent a year literally going around South America by bus and meeting up with some top local spearos at different cities. He started in Brazil, then went around Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, and Panama.

The links below are his first hand account of this fascinating trip and contain awesome stories, as well an valuable advice on local conditions best months for each location, interesting tricks he used and so forth.

You can check it out on his site, which also contain his take on the last World championship in Croatia. His site also offers a rudimentary translation tool on the top of the pages... just click on the flags if you want to use it.

Enjoy!

As a preview he took a few monster fish on the trip and the largest gun he took with him was biggest gun was 100cm long. Here is the complete list of the equipment he took for the trip:

2 euro guns of 100 cm, and one of 90cm; 12 7mm shafts; 6 reels; 2 pairs of fins and 2 sets of spare blades; 2 mask; 3 wetsuits in 3mm, 5mm, and 7mm; 2 snorkels; 2 belts; 2 pairs of gloves; 2 pairs of socks; 2 knives; 50 meters 2 mm spectra; 2 flashlights; 1 buoy; and about 20 pairs of bands
