So 6 months ago I went to Sharm Al Sheikh in Egypt and did a scuba dive for the first time and loved the experience, however the whole gear didn't work out for me. I mean the oxygen tank and putting weights is not for me so I watched a couple of videos about free-diving and loved them!

I would like to know are there any free divers in my country Kuwait ?

Plus I've been swimming in my gyms pool for 6 months now and enjoying it. Is it ok to learn how to free dive in pool gyms ?

Where do I start in free diving ?

Is it too late for me I am 22 years old and non smoker ?

When did you guys start free diving ? At what age ?

Welcome to DB @Lucy91 - glad to hear you have got the Freediving bug! You'll find a load of info on Freediving in here and on DeeperBlue.com in general so make sure you use the search facility to find what you are looking for as it is likely been asked before!

It is fine to train in gym pools however there is a cardinal rule you must obey - never freedive alone - even holding you breath in the pool or bath by yourself is very, very dangerous as you could blackout and die. I cannot stress enough you need to find a buddy or instructor who can help you learn safely.

You need to find a club or instructor who can teach you. I've been doing some searching for you and there don't seem to be any AIDA or SSI instructors in Kuwait but this person seems quite active: http://www.youtube.com/user/HamadKamal/about - you could also look at a nearby country to learn (for example Egypt & UAE/Dubai both have large Freediving communities).

Not at all! People learn to Freedive up into their 60's and 70's.

You'll find that people started Freediving at all different ages on here.
